Visit Fort Loudon as it was when relations between the British Colony of South Carolina and the Overhill Cherokee Nation were high. 18th century history meets 21st century technology with this virtual reality simulation.
Project Board Text:
One project created virtual artifacts of World War I era vintage. E.J. Mackie loaned a number of stereoscopic images that the staff then turned into three-dimensional virtual tanks, planes, buildings and other such items. Those virtual images were used to help promote Tennessee’s role in the First World War at the inaugural event of the Tennessee Great War Commission, chaired by professor Michael Birdwell of the TTU History Department.
